When Maddox’s mommy contacted me for a newborn session, he was already three weeks old. I was very honest with her and said that we would do what we can since he was past the recommended age to do a newborn portrait. The babies always run the show, but with one week old babies they are most likely to be still sleeping for the majority of the day.
When babies hit about a month old they start staying awake for longer stretches of time. Maddox was a big boy at birth weighing over 8 pounds….so at one month old I wasn’t sure I could swaddle this big guy with my wraps lol. But we got him all swaddled up and he loved it.
When the swaddle came off he was awake and ready to play!
