The Best Time is Now – Newborn, Maternity, and Family Photographer Canton, GA
As a Canton, GA photographer, I’m often asked, “When is the best time to have photos taken?” My answer is always, “The best time is NOW!” There is never a wrong time to document a time in your life. Whether it be your newborn baby, your teenager, your whole family, or just an annual photo to document your growth and have to share with generations to come. Don’t let life pass you by! Don’t look back and wonder why you didn’t take the opportunity to solidify these special moments in a photograph!
Using a series of blog posts, I will cover the different sessions I offer both in my home studio, as well as off-site locations. Courtney Elise Photography offers a wide range of session types to meet any of your photography needs. In my first series, I will be going into more detail about the importance of having photos to document the pregnancy and a baby’s first year.
Maternity Session
Pregnancy is such an exhilarating time in a woman’s life. Here you are, growing this tiny human in your belly. It’s truly amazing, and something that you want to remember long after your baby is born and in your arms. Maternity sessions are best scheduled between 28-34 weeks. This is when that belly is looking beautifully round, and mama hopefully isn’t too uncomfortable yet. We can discuss whether you’d like your session in the studio, or at one of the several off-site locations that I use.
A new baby brings many changes. Freeze this moment in time! Before you know it, life will never be the same! A mini maternity session can be added to a Classic or Petite Newborn Session for only $125!
Newborn Session
There is nothing more miraculous than a newborn baby. I can’t tell you how many times I have had moms tell me that they’ve regretted not having photos of their newborn taken. They are only this little for a short period of time, and you can’t turn back the clock! Even after the two-week mark, it is difficult to capture the nuances of a newborn baby. Everyone also wants to see your baby! What better way to show off your new little bundle than with precious photos of those chubby cheeks and little toes?
I offer three different packages for newborn photos. The Petite Newborn includes one fabric background and a prop with 10 digital images. The Classic newborn includes two fabric backgrounds and props AS WELL AS parent/sibling poses with 20 digital images. To capture your baby’s entire first year, I offer a complete first-year package that includes a newborn session, a sitter session, and a one-year session. Milestone Session
Much like the newborn phase, the first year of your baby’s life will go by in a flash! Why not document their milestones to have memories of those fleeting moments to look back on? Many parents choose to schedule their first milestone session when their baby begins to sit up on their own (4-6 months). We get to see those adorable gummy smiles, and your baby’s personality shines!
The other popular choice for milestone sessions is the one year session. At this point your baby is crawling, standing, and maybe even walking by now! Celebrating this first year is for the both of you. All milestone sessions include a one hour session in my home studio or an off-site location with two set ups. A smash cake and bubble bath session can be added to one year sessions at an additional cost. The sitter and one year sessions are also included in my first year package (see pricing page for details).
